Travel Set Amsterdam Chess Game

The age-old game of chess has been given a new but recognizable twist in this Amsterdam variant. The chess set consists of a game with pieces that each feature a characteristic building or structure in the city. Here the Amsterdam tower (king), the Westertoren (queen), Montelbaantoren (bishop), the streetcar (knight), Beurs van Berlage (rook) and the Amsterdammertjes (pawns) are used. 
The board game is nicely designed for travel. The chess pieces are “plugged” as it were into the appropriate holes in the board itself. The chess pieces can be stored in the extendable lid that also forms the surface of the board. The whole set is provided with a matching cardboard sleeve with the 3 Amsterdam St. Andrew's crosses.
